Painting and sculpture exhibition – Marie-Luce Queinnec and Maïté Le Reun
Exhibition Painting Sculpture
Description
This week, the Coop is hosting an exhibition of terracotta sculptures by Marie-Luce QUEINNEC and paintings by Maïté Le REUN: two artists who are attempting to harmonize the tables and walls of their space.
Marie-Luce QUEINNEC discovered working with clay in a workshop with an artist trainer several years ago.
"Giving it substance requires method and rigor and if the demands of this art of earth and fire can hinder inspiration, the transformation of matter has something magical about it….
I particularly like to sculpt the face, for me the most expressive part of the being, sometimes playing on the contrasts of a raw earth and a patinated or enameled decoration.
Maïté LE REUN is a local artist well known for her passion for the Bigouden coast and the Glénan Islands.
“I am in love with my environment, I like painting beaches, lighthouses, rocks and the sea in all its forms.
Self-taught, I use acrylic mainly with a knife.
