Exhibition “In the garden of the Hesperides”

A story of hydrangeas, strawberries, tomatoes, artichokes, potatoes... All these plants so familiar today in Brittany came from elsewhere, at the cost of romantic maritime and botanical adventures which marked the centuries.

From the first migrations across the Mediterranean, to the great discoveries across the Atlantic and then the Pacific, the plants that are part of our daily lives have crossed the seas and continents to settle in Brittany. These productions are now part of the landscape, like identity markers of the territory. Behind the maritime adventure and the botanical history, we can read a metaphor on the journeys, the grafts and what their destiny and their posterity depend on.
