Two men fishing off Pointe Saint-GillesFishing in the Odet
The River Odet, named the most beautiful river in France, is a favourite spot for freshwater fishing. Its green banks and calm waters are perfect for an afternoon’s fishing. Please note, however, that angling is prohibited from Le Coq lighthouse to the Cornouaille bridge.
No need for a fishing licence
Good news for occasional anglers! You don’t need a fishing licence to go angling in the river between Bénodet and Quimper. Simply bring your rod and bait and enjoy your time fishing.
Sea fishing
Bénodet, with its direct access to the ocean, offers plenty of opportunities for sea fishing. Species vary depending on the season and the fishing spot, but you could be pulling in sea bass, sea bream, mackerel and many others.
Fishing spots
Jetties and rocky areas are good places for sea fishing. More experienced anglers might also consider a boat trip further out to explore the more remote seabed.
