TheBénodet Tourist Office places accessibility at the heart of its activities, convinced that everyone should be able to discover our region in the best possible conditions. Through a demanding relabelling process, we are reaffirming our desire to offer an inclusive welcome, adapted services and a pleasant tourist experience for everyone, whatever their specific needs. This commitment is reflected in concrete improvements, carefully thought out to ensure comfort, independence and quality of information.

An inclusive approach

In 2021, planning permission was granted for theextension and modernisation of theBénodet Tourist Office’sreception facilities. It was approved without a request for an exemption for accessibility.

Following a major programme of works, the Bénodet Tourist Office is now actively seeking to obtain the Tourism & Handicap labelfor all four types of disability (hearing, mental, motor and visual). This government label is proof of our desire to offer everyone a personalised and adapted welcome, whatever their abilities or whether they have a temporary or permanent disability.

Concrete developments in the service of accessibility

A number of facilities have been set up in the immediate vicinity of the Tourist Office to ensure an optimum welcome:

Two reserved parking spaces opposite the main entrance;
Accessible toilets just 10 metres away;
A building on one level, with furniture adapted to all visitors;
The reception area is easy tonavigate, with a rest area;
A magnetic loop in the reception area for people with a hearing impairment;
A Braille presentation of the town and its accessible facilities;
A FALC (Facile À Lire et à Comprendre) guide listing adapted tourist facilities (accommodation, shops, services);
An accessible map of Bénodet, designed for easy reading;
A guide to accessible tourist facilities in the resort. It lists the accommodation, shops and services that can best welcome visitors with disabilities.
A team trained in welcoming people with disabilities, to ensure that they are looked after in a professional and caring way.

The label Tourism and Disability

A guarantee of accessibility

Tourisme & Handicap is the only government mark dedicated to accessibility for tourists. Since May 2024, it has been run by Atout France, in partnership with theTourisme & Handicaps association. This label certifies the presence of specific infrastructures and skills enabling a welcome adapted to all visitor profiles.

In France, more than 3,700 establishments have been awarded the label, including more than 200 in Brittany, demonstrating the region’s genuine commitment to inclusive tourism.

A reliable benchmark for worry-free holidays

The label is awarded to a wide variety of establishments, including accommodation, tourist attractions, restaurants, tourist offices and leisure facilities. It provides a clear benchmark for travellers with disabilities, and recognises the efforts of professionals who are making a practical commitment to making tourism accessible to all.

With almost 12 million people in France affected by a disability, this dynamic is essential to guarantee a fair, supportive and sustainable tourism offer.
