Strings that sublimate voices, powerful and delicate, sing the stories of our time. After six years on the traditional music scene, Eben set themselves the challenge of putting together an ambitious, contemporary show: "Douar Nevez" (New Earth). The show was born of a desire to share with everyone their vision of a Breton culture and language that is bold, creative and alive. The sextet, made up of singers Sterenn Diridollou, Marine Lavigne and Sterenn Le Guillou, guitarist Antoine Lahay, double bassist Julien Stévenin and viola player Jonathan Dour, has captured the hearts of Breton music fans in Brittany and across Europe. After a first album dedicated to dance music, Eben explores different traditional and folk rhythms in the service of original and contemporary lyrics. Their writing revolves around the notion of emancipation and the affirmation of one's identity. The songs are in dialogue with each other, weaving links between past and present. The ancestral art of Breton song blends with the creative energy of the sextet, inviting the audience to dance to the new air, to celebrate a new era.
