It's a project inspired by a true story: the journey of Dana, the eagle from the Aquashow in Audierne, who got lost for three weeks across Brittany in 2019.
The film was shot in Brittany with real cinema eagles. The film was shot in all four corners of Brittany: in Huelgoat, on the pink granite coast in Perros-Guirec, at the Aiguilles de Port Coton on Belle-Île... The eagle's journey ends on the steeples of Quimper cathedral.
All along the bird's journey, Breton artists reveal their talents. The lead actress is Goulwena an Henaff, and there is also the Celtic circle Les Eostiged ar Stangala, the group Fleuve, as well as Youn Kamm and Morwenn le Normand, who perform the musical part on screen.
The project took the form of a film released in 2023 during a tour of previews in Breton cinemas, and was broadcast on France 3 Bretagne.
In December 2025, the book Ciel de Légende will be published, recounting this extraordinary adventure.
To mark the occasion, a tour of cinemas and bookshops in Brittany is being organised, with screenings and book signings throughout December.
A book presentation/signing session for "Ciels de Légendes" will be held on 30/12/2025 from 3pm to 7.30pm at the Leclerc cultural centre in Pleuven.
The film and book are in Breton and French.
The film team will be present, and a book signing will take place after the screening.

Inspired by the journey of Dana, a bald eagle from the Aquashow in Audierne who got lost for 3 weeks in 2019, "Ciels de Légendes" is a film revealing Brittany from the eagle's point of view. This unexpected aerial journey takes viewers on a discovery of Brittany's landscapes and artists, revealed along the bird's route. Presented in the form of a short film accompanied by a documentary, it's a real technical and artistic challenge. The documentary goes behind the scenes of the creation of the short film and reveals to the public the obstacles and adventures involved in the creation of "Ciels de Légendes": filming with the eagles and four boats on the open sea, dancers and the birds at the top of the spires of Quimper cathedral - the adventure was full of twists and turns. Discover this never-before-seen aerial documentary, an ambassador for Brittany, its culture and its artists.
